"I entered Ms. Felcher's AP Lang class during my junior year thinking I knew everything there was to know about English, but I was beyond wrong.  Like most AP English students, I learned literature, composition, and whatever else was regulated by the AP curriculum.  But it was the compassion, urgency, and delicate care with which Ms. Felcher handled her class that set it apart.  It was those attributes that transformed me into a student of thought.  In writing, I was no longer telling, I was showing; in analysis, I no longer questioned only  the what, but also the how and why.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Felcher was more my mentor than teacher.  Her direction during my journey through AP Lang, AP Lit, the school newspaper, and other publications taught me what I know today, not only when it comes to literature and composition, but also problem-solving, analysis, and inquiry,  Her mentorship pushed me farther than I could have imagined, and to this date, I apply what I learned every day in my courses at Cornell."
